About Dan

Managing a region such as Kawartha Lakes with a $400M budget is big business, and I have a solid corporate business background developing and launching new business, strategic planning, budgeting expertise and more. 

As a Senior VP Business Development, I launched and managed many new successful business units over the years. This involved negotiated partnerships with several stakeholder institutions including the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response, Treasury Board Secretariat (Ontario), the Department of Family and Community Medicine, and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto; the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan; Princess Margaret Hospital; and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. 

Also developed strategic partnerships with B2B associations and NGO’s including the Business Continuity Institute, Canadian Red Cross, Disaster Recovery Institute Canada, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society-Ontario, International Association of Emergency Managers-Canada, Médecins francophones du Canada, Ontario Association of Emergency Managers, Ontario Municipal Social Services Association, and the Resilience Information Exchange-Toronto.

Now semi-retired, I currently manage a part-time business along with my Councillor duties.
