Old Plug Hat Lane - many are asking about my front page picture and "where is Old Plug Hat Lane?". The structure is cedar and crafted by a neighbour Wim Pattenden as a gift to my parents, Don and Neenie, who called our long winding driveway through the woods Old Plug Hat Lane, (the box itself is new). I helped my Dad plant this at the roadside when I was 9 years old. My parents eventually sold the property in 1987 and moved to Vancouver Island. Years later in 2012, to my astonishment, my brother Adam handed this over to me before moving to Vernon, BC. I had no idea this was dug up when my parents sold and my brother was charged with the family keepsake. "It's now your turn", he said. So, 40 years later I found myself digging a hole for the same mailbox that now sits proudly beside my garage!
